Our Dutch oven is already seasoned at the factory and is therefore ready for use straight away. However, we recommend cleaning the pot thoroughly with hot water before using it for the first time. Be careful not to use detergent or aggressive cleaners as these could damage the natural patina, which would lead to rust. Seasoning ensures that the surface of the cast iron is sealed and a natural non-stick coating is created.
A key advantage of the Dutch oven is its excellent ability to store and distribute heat evenly. This enables perfect, even cooking, which is particularly beneficial for braised dishes and stews.
